A visit to Volker Eisele Family Estate is a unique and rare wine country experience. It is an opportunity to leave the valley floor and discover the back roads; the beautiful setting with rows of vines surrounded by green hills and pastures, the historic winery building with its original press, and most of all, the enjoyment of our elegant estate wines.
We invite you to visit the Estate. There you will be greeted by an Eisele family member and led into the vineyard. We will explain the farming methods we implement during the growing season with special focus on organic farming practices as well as techniques used to produce high quality wine grapes. If there is fruit on the vines we will take sugar samples, taste the different varietals and discuss how the flavors translate into the wines.
We will share the history of the land that was originally farmed by Joseph Ballinger Chiles in 1844. The property was later purchased by German pioneer, Francis Sievers, who founded Lomita’s Vineyard and Winery here in the early 1870s. The original winery building, the press and some of the wine making equipment can still be seen on this historic property.
The vineyard tour is followed by a tasting of our current releases in the historic winery building that dates back to the late 1800’s. An experience at Volker Eisele Family Estate is always private. Guests can expect to spend 90 minutes with us, tasting fees apply.
Reservations are held in advance by credit card and we prefer to speak with the guest directly to ensure consistent quality of service. Should you wish to make a reservation for a private tour and tasting, please telephone 707.965.9485 or email info@volkereiselefamilyestate.com.
