In the mouth, the wine shows layers and layers of dense flavors – cherry, black plum, saddle leather, dark chocolate and graphite, wrapped with creamy tannins and a lovely lengthy finish perfumed with vanilla.

Deeply scented and inviting aromas of blackberry compote, graphite and cassia bark. The palate is full-bodied with supple tannins and integrated acidity, carrying notes of mocha, tobacco leaves and mulberry bush. Very precisely structured and giving. Drinkable now, but best from 2028. ~ James Suckling

The 2022 See Clone Cabernet Sauvignon marks the inaugural vintage of this new wine, sourced from the oldest producing vines in the vineyard, organically farmed since 1974. It is a deeply savoury red, opening with layers of black currant, leather, and licorice. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has inky dark fruit and assertive, powerful tannins that build toward a dry, structured finish. This is a bold and characterful expression from these historic vines. ~Decanter

The 2022 See Clone, Cabernet Sauvignon offers cassis, candied violet, incense, and orange peel aromatics. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and round on the palate, it delivers fine tannins and a great finish. ~Jeb Dunnick

Sweet purple fruits combine with savory earth, tobacco, and leather, carried by hearty tannins and a firm, balanced finish. A rich meal will showcase this wine now, or wait several years and then decant. ~ Wine Enthusiast

The fruit for the Las Flores, Cabernet Sauvignon, comes from a section of our vineyard called the Las Flores block, named by the Nevarez family, who have been farming the land with us since 1974. The mustard that grows in the Las Flores block every spring blooms a more brilliant yellow in this field than anywhere else within our vineyard.

The 2022 Las Flores is bright and lively in the glass with aromas of red cherry, blackberry, black plum and cedar. In the mouth, the wine shows lovely flavors of black cherry, cocoa powder, and creme de cassis, with a lingering perfume of nutmeg throughout the finish.

“Brooding, savory aromas of blackcurrants, roasted coffee beans and tobacco. The palate is soft and giving with a firm tannin and acid structure, giving fresh notes of wild blackberries, dark chocolate and cassis. Nicely polished, with a long life ahead. Drink or hold.”

2021 V, Cabernet Sauvignon

The V, Cabernet Sauvignon is dedicated to Volker, a man who spent his life protecting the beauty that surrounds us. ~ The Eisele Family

The V, Cabernet Sauvignon is a special collaboration born out of a desire to take high quality wine grape growing to its highest potential. The vines from our steepest terrain were heavily thinned to one cluster per shoot, dry farmed and a meticulously managed canopy ensured even ripening. The resulting tiny berries produced a powerhouse of flavors. This is a wine that truly began in the vineyard.

Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Harvest: The grapes were harvested September 22, 2021 with 24.4 degrees average brix, 0.64 total acidity, and 3.67pH

Oak Aging: 22 months in 60% new French oak barrels from Treuil cooperage (i.e. Allier and Troncais).

Organic: All fruit is organically grown in our estate vineyard.

The 2021 V Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a nose showcasing brilliant fruit, blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry with a hint of Chinese five-spice powder. In the mouth, the wine shows finely textured tannins framing densely layered flavors of blackberry and cassis, with hints of freshly roasted coffee and toffee. A lovely note of vanilla persists through the finish.
  ~ Molly Lippitt, Winemaker

“From a hillside parcel thinned to one bunch of grapes per shoot, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon V is impressively dark hued in the glass. Black cherries and cassis are framed by oak …it’s impressive for its concentration, structure and length on the finish, all of which suggest considerable longevity.
