Place

Since 1974, the Eisele family has farmed organically in the Chiles Valley District of the Napa Valley.

The Estate’s sixty acres of vineyard grow at elevations of 900 to 1100 feet on east, west, and south facing slopes.  Soils vary from well-draining gravely, clay-loam to silt loam, belonging to the Tehama Series.  The vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.  A variety of clones have been incorporated to provide diversity of flavor.  The vineyard experiences the cooling effect of the afternoon breeze that is as much a fixture of the estate as are the marine soil deposits to which the vines are bound.  Dramatic diurnal range, a diverse array of complex microclimates, and myriad vineyard aspects all leave their mark upon what is ultimately crushed, fermented, and bottled.
